Do we know how to recycle our plastic waste?

How much do you inspect your plastic products? If the answer is “quite closely”, you might have noticed that some products feature small numbers tucked inside a three-arrowed triangle. You would be forgiven for not knowing exactly what it means and, unless you know what you’re looking for, it can often be quite hard to spot. But fear not, for the latest instalment of Monarch Explains gives you the lowdown on all things plastic, including which types are safe to reuse and how to recycle them.

We’ve created this Plastic Recycling guide to raise awareness about plastic waste in our society, and to recognise actions each of us can take to reduce our impact on the planet. Please do get in touch to discuss how we can get you on the road to sustainability.

Let the festivities begin!

As a whole, the UK produces 30% more rubbish over the Christmas period, so with the big day a mere 33 days away now, it might be time to start thinking about the waste – particularly plastic – that we generate in the coming weeks. If you’re wondering how to dispose of your broken fairy lights or lengths of tinsel come the New Year, you’ll find guidance in the Monarch Explains guide above.

Keep your eyes peeled for our #PlasticFreeXmas campaign on our social media accounts (Twitter and LinkedIn) where we’ll be counting down the 12 working days leading up to Christmas with recycling, waste, and plastic related facts.
